We are pleased to announce that Ms. Houchins, Kempsville alumni and teacher, was named Virginia Beach City Public School's Career and Technical Education Teacher of the Year! Congratulations, Ms. Houchins!

Summer Residential Governor's School

Congratulations to Hannah Ramsbottom, Tyree Russell (not pictured), and Robby Smith for being invited to attend Summer Residential Governor’s Schools! Hannah and Tyree participated in a series of rigorous auditions in order to be 2 of 200 Virginia students accepted to attend the Visual and Performing Arts Program at Radford. Robby was is among 100 Virginia students who were invited to attend the Agriculture program at Virginia Tech after an equally challenging application process. We are so proud of you!

Kooky Kontainers, a student run company in Mrs. Manoso's Advanced Entrepreneurship & Innovation class at Kempsville High, recently won 2nd plan in Junior Achievement's "Light Speed" competition.

The 2017 - 2018 yearbook is selling fast -- only 100 copies are left! Purchase yours today online on or before May 18. After that date, you may purchase them from Mrs. Jones in Room 213 using cash or check payments. Buy now before it sells out!

Library Renovation

We are pleased to announce that Kempsville High School will have a new Learning Commons Library soon! The Library will be renovated during March and April; students may check out books or print off assignments in the temporary Library located in the AV Room.

Volunteers of the Year

Kempsville High School is pleased to announce our two Co-Volunteers of the Year, Deborah Rose and Jeff Corey.  Both have been instrumental in revitalizing the revenue stream for All Night Graduation with their flock of pink flamingos!  Want to know more about these cool tropical birds?  They can bring a flock to your front yard!  Just e-mail khschiefsang@gmail.com.

Congratulations to Kempsville High School on earning the W!SE Blue Star School status for the 2016-2017 school year! We are only of only 232 schools across the nation to earn this accolade. Congratulations, Chiefs!

Kempsville High School Parking Permits

Parking privileges are available to all students with a verified Virginia Driver's license and proof of vehicle insurance. The school or the School Division accepts no responsibility for theft or damage to vehicles while on school property. Parking applications may be picked up in the main office and also are available on Kempsville's website. Cost of a parking permit is $45.00 (cash or check). Students without a valid parking decal may not park on school grounds. Reserved spaces for faculty members are clearly marked, and students may not use those spaces. Any student in violation of these parking regulations will have his or her car retained on school premises and subject to a monetary fine of $25.00. If there are any questions or concerns, please contact Mrs. Kimble in the main office.

Once you find an opportunity that matches your interest and expertise, you may respond directly to the posting to sign up. You may also log your valuable volunteer service hours each time your volunteer at a school on this site. Should you have additional questions or need further assistance, please contact Kempsville directly or the Office of Community Engagement at 263-1337.
